Boston 2014: Day Three: Boston Children's Hospital, Duck Tours, and Fenway Park

We started day three out with breakfast and a big general meeting of how the company is doing, new plans, etc. It was interesting and informative for us partners of the actual employees. Then we grabbed some yummy boxed lunches and met up with our service project groups that we had previously signed up for when we registered for the conference. We signed up for a project benefiting Boston Children's Hospital. It was low-impact, which I did on purpose because I wasn't too sure how healed up Kevin's ankle would be by then, and I'm glad we went for this one because after all of yesterday's walking around, he was definitely feeling it. We had lists of needed items from the hospital, so we headed to Target and split into different age groups to shop. We got the babies and had so much fun shopping. We talked to the manager about what we were doing and he gave us a discount! We loaded up the bus with our purchases and headed to the hospital to donate our items. We donated in the name of a child who had passed away from a rare genetic disorder. His parents were there to accept a certificate and the items in their son's name. It was a very touching moment for everyone involved. So awesome!

We headed back to the hotel, grabbed a snack from the coffee shop around the corner, and then loaded up for a Boston Duck Tour. It was fun but I thought our tour guide was a bit lacking. He got easily distracted and off subject, but we still got to see a lot of Boston that we hadn't seen yet. The best part was driving straight into the Charles River and cruising there for awhile.

Forever waiting on the elevators at this hotel...

Mary Dyer was hanged in Boston Common in 1660 for repeatedly defying a Puritan law banning Quakers from the colony. "My life not availeth me in comparison to the liberty of the truth."

The views from the river were simply wonderful. Loved the Longfellow Bridge. It was under some renovations when we were there.

The Duck Tours dropped us all off at Fenway Park. We had the entire place to ourselves and it was fabulous! We had amazing food and and tour of Fenway was super!

Mini burgers, Fenway Franks, a yummy salad, and the most scrumptious lobster roll I've ever had!
Seriously, I kept eating and eating these rolls. Could. Not. Resist!!

Cute pic we got taken
There was a guard standing by these the whole time.

Totally cool to get the entire history of the park. It was a way fun night. We skipped taking the bus back to the hotel and walked for awhile in the twilight. We caught the subway eventually, Face Timed our boys back in Utah, and ended our night the way we usually did...with Kevin crashing immediately and me falling asleep to re-runs!
