John and Jessica: A Vintage Backyard Wedding!

August 9, 2014....John and Jessica's big day!! We were all super, super exicted. All I can say is the wedding was gorgeous, I cried, and I gained another sister! This post is mostly a photo dump, and all the really good photos are thanks to the awesome photographer they hired, but you won't regret scrolling through this post....it was a beautiful day!

Jess brought me the rings and I think she was super nervous to let them out of her sight but they made it to the ceremony safe and sound.

Tucker was one of the ring bearers and dang, was he ever cute!

Jessica's grandparents and my brother were remembered right as guests walked in. It was so touching.

The decor was fabulous. Jess was going for a vintage, shabby chic look and I totally think she pulled it off!

My aunt made this wreath specifically for the wedding.

My mom, my sister, and I made John and Jess this quilt. It took months. I loved how it turned out!

John with his oldest friend, Rhett Hall. He wasn't sure he'd make the wedding and we were so glad he did!

It was evident that John and Jess were radiantly happy. They'd both waited a long time to find each other, and I'm so happy that they did!

The wedding was beautiful. The food was great, the music was rockin', the company the best. My brother is over-the-moon happy, and I have a new sister.

The end of a perfect evening, the beginning of a grand life.

John and Jessica: The Wedding Rehearsal

John and Jessica's wedding: rehearsal day! We were all pretty stoked. My sis had come down from Logan and the kids were having a ball together again.

We set up a salon in the dining room and everyone's nails got painted for the occasion.

My bro-in-law Mark made a great supervisor.

We finally loaded up and headed to the wedding location for rehearsal. Of course we did our Kirk duty and never let things get too serious. :)

Tucker learnin' the ropes for the real thing!

Time to get serious!

Once the rehearsal was finished, we drove to a park not far away for the rehearsal dinner my parents were hosting. I insisted on a sibling photo. I love these pictures but am always acutely aware that one of us is missing. Love ya, Richard.

My sis seemed to be the only one who could get Jax to smile that weekend....she needs to come live with me!

My mom decided on the theme the simpler, the better. We rented tablecloths from Kevin's mom's business, my mom made the flower jars, and she got the dinner catered. Dutch oven dinner, mmm! They served BBQ boneless pork ribs, chicken, cheesy potatoes, salad, rolls, and peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Delish!

The betrothed!
My mom asked Kev to make a speech and he said some very nice things about my brother and Jess.

My mom went next and made us all cry.

I thought the rehearsal was great and the evening was a hit!

Next step: I DO!!
